A few weeks ago I was setting up for a session and Lori said “Momma, take pictures of me”. “Alrighty”, I said and then I started snapping away. Lori did so good for about the first 2 minutes…posing for me, dancing, and making silly faces. Probably two minutes is stretching it a bit really, but I kept on. And as always with children who have PKS (Photographer’s Kid Syndrome), it ended in tears and Lori saying “Momma, don’t take pictures of me”. Just when I thought she was coming around;)

And below is a typical session with Lori…first she starts out with a smile (usually only one and if I’m really lucky I get it on camera) and then, without any warning, she’s done!!!! But not me, I usually keep on with the session because shots like the last two are just priceless to me. I’m already thinking about a huge canvas for the “single tear” shot.

Oh and sorry about the hair…this was just an impromptu session from last Friday. Lori said “I take pictures” and I jumped! No time to worry about the hair:)

I don’t always have them time or energy to do a full-blown session, but I always have a camera (or two or three or four) within arm’s reach so there should be no reason for not getting at least some snapshots. But sometimes I don’t even want to pick up the camera because I know they might just stay in the camera or on the computer for a long while (I still have pictures on my “point & shoot” of Lori from last summer). So she told me about something she does, called “Mine on Mondays”, that keeps her sort of accountable for taking pictures of her kids and getting them processed – every Monday she puts one or two of her little munchkins on her blog. I loved this idea so much, that I just had to borrow it (THANKS JULIE). So here’s my first “Mine on Monday” of Lori doing a little “Who Dat” boogie (so appropriate since the Saints kicked some Colt booty last night)!!! And just so you know (before I get a lot of hate email – hehe), I was cheering for both teams…I love Payton Manning, but I’ve gotta love the Saints too.
